At ARCHITECT@WORK, which will take place on September 11 and 12 in Rotterdam Ahoy, there will be an extra spotlight on the high-quality finishes of facades and interiors: among the many exhibitors, in the materials exhibition, in the photo exhibition, and in the lecture program that Architectenweb has composed. The speakers at the event include Dirk Somers (Bovenbouw) and Caro van de Venne (Nudus). ARCHITECT@WORK is organized alternately in Amsterdam and Rotterdam. After last year's edition on the Hembrug site, ARCHITECT@WORK is now returning to Ahoy Rotterdam for its tenth edition there. The theme this time is 'Super Skin' which, in addition to the speaker programme, is also reflected in the materials exhibition by MaterialDistrict, in the photo exhibition by Dutch Architecture Photographers (DAPh) and in the projects exhibition by World-Architects.com. But the most important are of course the exhibitors who show their innovations in the well-known compact stands at the event. As in previous editions, two hundred exhibitors will once again present their novelties. In addition, 'super skins' can be found at many exhibitors: from particularly durable facade cladding to interior finishes with exceptional performance. On the first day of the event, on Wednesday September 11, architect Dirk Somers from Bovenbouw will tell a story about his relationship with facades at 2:30 PM. He does this using historical examples and contemporary projects. On the second day of ARCHITECT@WORK, on Thursday September 12, architect Caro van de Venne from Nudus explains how circularity is playing an increasingly important role in their work. During the renovation and expansion of the Palace of Justice in The Hague, for example, the existing natural stone facade panels are removed from the facade, treated with a water jet, and then replaced in a different way. The glass in the facade is also reused in the new glass for the courthouse. The agency enjoys pushing boundaries. Other speakers at the event include landscape architect Marjan Ketner (Copijn Landschapsarchitecten), architect Jan Nauta (Studio Nauta), architect Ron Bakker (PLP Architecture) and architect Don Murphy (VMX Architects). ARCHITECT@WORK will take place on September 11 and 12 in Rotterdam Ahoy, both days from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. For more information, visit www.architectatwork.nl . ARCHITECT@WORK is organized in a hybrid manner. The lectures can also be followed via a livestream. The presented novelties can also be found online. And appointments can be scheduled with exhibitors online. “Because that remains the best part,” says Anne-Laure van de Ginste of ARCHITECT@WORK: “To experience it live and really talk to each other again!”
