FESTA DI U FICU 2024 - A Grand Fair Celebrating the Fig in Corsica

Ghjuventu Peraccia” was born in April 95 in Peri with the Ustaria bar as its headquarters and Jojo BISGAMBIGLIA as president. A project around which to develop our action? Our black fig is delicious, endangered and no fair celebrates the fig in Corsica. This is the opportunity to promote Peri and the valley! Documenting yourself, questioning elders, acquiring technical knowledge made it possible to create a celebration that brings together professionals and individuals in a magnificent setting. The University of Corsica is carrying out a study on the different varieties in Corsica and the Conservatoire du Littoral is sending specialists to lead a technical meeting...: it's a win! A fervor around the fig emerges, even a single exhibitor of dried figs is present and believes in it. The work carried out on the varieties known in Corsica and the origin of the establishment of the fig on the island fuels the technical part of the event. A trademark is established: simplicity and a taste for the real. The following editions mark maturity and consecration. The partnership with the Chamber of Agriculture of Southern Corsica is strengthened and results in the establishment of technical interventions in the field and conferences. Rich contacts and exchanges were born from the rapprochement of the Foyer with the organizers of the Fig Festival of Solliès Pont, capital of this flower in France. At Festa Di u Ficu et u Fiurone, it is above all a human adventure. Some have left us, others are joining us. We took a path made up of encounters, joys, emotions, heavy and painful moments but always rich and filled with songs and laughter.
